The Liar’s Child by Sheryl Browne #BookReview #TheLiarsChild #PsychologicalThriller #NetGalley @SherylBrowne @Bookouture

Hello everyone. Happy New Month! How have you all been? It seems the year is coming to an end. Unbelievable, right? How time flies. Anyway, today’s post is another book review on a Thriller I read just recently. Tell me what you think about this in the comment section!

Title: The Liar’s Daughter

Author: Sheryl Browne

Pages: 269

I’ll do anything to protect my daughter…

When I pick my beloved daughter Poppy up from school one afternoon, my mind races when I see the little girl holding Poppy’s hand. With the same heart-shaped face, long brown hair and dark eyes, the two girls look identical. In fact, they look like sisters.

Is the secret I’ve been holding on to for so long about to be revealed?

That night, I cuddle Poppy even harder, desperately trying to decide what to do. And then my husband’s phone vibrates. A message. And then another. And another. All from a number I don’t recognise.

Is someone going to tell my husband what I did? Could I be about to lose everything I have worked so hard to protect?

But I’ve spent so long hiding the truth, I never stopped to wonder if I was the only liar in the family… The only thing I’m sure of is that nobody is going to take my child away from me.

If you can’t get enough of addictive psychological thrillers like Gone Girl, The Wife Between Us and The Marriage, you’ll love The Liar’s Child. With nail-biting suspense and an ending that will make your heart pound, this is one book you simply won’t be able to put down.

This book is the best. From the start I was gripped and couldn’t stop reading. It’s a very simple book actually. It follows the lives of a happy family – Matt and Kay and their 5 year old daughter, Poppy. Poppy is ill with what seems to be kidney problems and the parents have to check whether they are eligible donors.

Suddenly, Matt finds out that he doesn’t have the right blood type and he starts getting suspicious. Meanwhile, Kay meets a new student who she feels harnesses bad energy though she can’t figure out why.
Matt begins to think his wife is having an affair with his brother and she feels he is the one having an affair.

Then, a new character comes up. Olivis who looks exactly like Poppy. How is it even possible? Are they sisters?

I enjoyed reading this suspense which seemed to ramp up in every chapter. The author did a whole lot of research on Poppy’s sickness and i must say, that is commendable.

“She’ll do anything to protect her daughter…”

I love Matt and Kay. They’re so loving and caring, especially how Matt adores helping others. I had my suspects from the start and I wasn’t wrong. Though I didn’t like how Matt jumped to conclusions about Kay. For goodness sake! She is the love of his life. Why can’t he just sit down and talk to her? Because of that he almost lost her. Thank God things changed.

This is an exceptional drama with lots of secrets, and mystery to keep the reader entertained.

Much thanks to Netgalley, Sheryl Browne and the publisher for this ARC copy.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
