Love You Like A Love Song: A romance novel that is clichΓ© but you still love it

Love Finds You by Ivy Alexander. It’s my favorite Romance book even though, I must say, it’s very clichΓ©. But it’s just so adorable and sweet. In a way I very much relate to the MC. The book follows a young city lawyer who is kinda proud. She travels to visit her grandmother living in the countryside and there she sees a whole different life, one that she would love to be a part of. This book has my heart completely. Has anyone here read it?

Rare: A book with a female protagonist unlike any other

Lilly Linton from Storm And Silence series is the best female MC! Well equipped in sarcastic comments and a strong believer in feminist principles, she is very much the sassiest, toughest, and most fun character you’ll ever read. I love everything about her.

Look at Her Now: A character who suffered a lot (physically/mentally) but eventually recovered and is now at the better end of life

I’d take the female characters from A Woman Is No Man by Etaf Rum. They have been through so much, from being controlled by the men in their family, to being looked down upon, Psychological and mental, even physical abuse. It’s really been a hard journey for them. It was such a relief when they finally struggled free from the evil men’s clutches.

Wolves: A book that got you out of a reading slump

I do get reading slumps frequently and it takes a really good book to break out of it. Most recently, I discovered Kiersten Modglin. So I decided to give her book a try and I started reading The Arrangement. I was such in a mood that I couldn’t read anything. That book turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. So suspenseful, and unique, I devoured it in a day! It got me out of my reading slump and already I’m looking forward to reading more of her books.

It Ain’t Me: A character you used to like but not anymore

Josh Sanderson. I used to love him so much but recently anytime I remember the character I realise he annoys me. I wish he fought harder for Lara Jean and I really would have loved them to end up together. But then as he was still her sister’s boyfriend, he still had the nerve to make a move at her. Ughhhh

Feel Me: A character you can’t bear to see with anyone else but you

OMG I have a lot! But okay… I’ll tie it down to 3. Can I? Hmm πŸ€” Okay fine, I will. Here we go. Jem from Clockwork Angel. (I’m sorry My Will. I had to choose one πŸ˜”) Jem is so yummy, I simply adore him. I love the mysterious aspect of him. There’s just something cool about him and oh, he’s so much fun to be with. Then, my one and only Mr Rikkard Ambrose. Oh my my. That guy is so hot! Phew! He might be stiff and a bit wierd but I looove wierd. Being wierd is my thing. That guy is THE MAN. And of course, The Darkling from the Shadow and Bone series. He’s so sexy and his dialogues are top notch. Those words he uses… so intense … πŸ’‹

My lovely Jem 😍

Same Old Love: A book with an unoriginal and unrealistic romance

Killing Sarai by J. A. Redmerski. I watched the movie recently and it was so clichΓ© but then it looked so much like a book. Guess what? It is a book! I didn’t read it but I read the synopsis, and oh, was it clichΓ©! What made me finish watching the movie was the hot hunk that acted as the mafia man. Oh la la. Read my review of the movie here. Basically the book follows Sarai who was sold to a Don. She was maltreated in the mansion along with other girls. Being the Don’s favorite, she got it worse. One day, a hitman arrives at the mansion on his own business and Sarai finds the opportunity to find in his car. He discovers her but allows her to go with him. Then boom! their love story begins. Ugh.

The Heart Wants What it Wants: A book you regret finishing because you miss reading it

The Stillborn by Zaynab Alkali. Oh how I miss reading this book. The moment I finished reading it, I felt waves of emotions I can’t even explain. They just washed through me and I wished I could unread and reread it all over again.

Back to You: A book you read again and again even though you have other books on your TBR pile

The Virtuous Woman by Zaynab Alkali. I read this book a lot and I have absolutely no regrets. It has the best characters, well developed plot, amazing scenes and interesting dialogues. It’s simply the best.

Hit the Lights: A book that just made you forget everything else

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley. I was utterly speechless throughout the book. The lies and betrayals were just too much, and the ending was unbelievable. I read this book last year but I can still feel the goosebumps I felt while reading it.

Tell Me Something I Don’t Know: A book people keep recommending you which you already have on your TBR pile

The Guest List. Everyone has told me to read this but I keep postponing it. I don’t even know why! Well, maybe I’ll read it before next year InshaAllah.

I Can’t Get Enough: A book series/world you just want more and more of

Love this fictional world. It’s so mysterious and dangerous, I’d love to be a part of. The characters are always fighting one thing or the other. I think it’s pretty cool.

Thanks so much for reading guys. Hope you enjoyed it. I’d love to hear what you think! Please drop your comments in the comments section below. Until next time,

Ciao. ❀
